Chelsea have received a major injury boost ahead of the Liverpool clash with midfielder N'Golo Kante returning to first-team training.
The Frenchman has been sidelined since the 1-1 draw against Leicester City with an ankle problem and Blues boss Frank Lampard has recently refused to mention a return date for the midfielder.
However, ahead of the Reds' game, it appears that he has returned to training and could be in contention to make the matchday squad, a report from Football.London claims.
Aside from Kante, Antonio Rudiger and Mason Mount have recently picked up groin and ankle injuries and they are doubtful for the weekend game after skipping first-team training on Thursday.
The Blues suffered a 1-0 defeat to Valencia in the Champions League opener on Tuesday night. Rodrigo scored the only goal on the night but this was shortly followed by a missed penalty from Ross Barkley.
The west London side are presently on eight points for the Premier League season. Their most recent meeting against the Reds ended in a European Super Cup defeat on penalties following a 2-2 draw.
