Liverpool captain praises Chelsea's young duo ahead of league meeting

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has heaped praise on young Chelsea duo Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount ahead of the Premier League meeting between the sides.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • Abraham and Mount have been regular starters for the Blues since the beginning of the campaign and they have already scored 10 of the 11 goals in the Premier League.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday, Henderson appreciated the progress of the young Blues duo, who have contributed hugely towards the club's proceedings in the early part of the season.

He told: "They've got young kids but they're top players, and certainly will be in the future. They've got huge potential with the likes of Mason [Mount] already training for England, I can see he's got the right mentality to play football.

"Technically he's very good. Everyone can see that he's hungry to be a very good player and is a very exciting prospect. He's started the season very well along with Tammy [Abraham].”

Mount has contributed three goals for the Blues this season. In comparison, Abraham has fared much better with seven goals which have all come from the past three league games.

Mount is currently a major doubt for the Reds game with an ankle problem picked up during the midweek Champions League clash against Valencia and a late fitness test may determine his involvement.
