Mandzukic on West Ham radar?

West Ham United to rival Manchester United for Juventus striker?

26 September 2019 - 15:21

West Ham United have reportedly earmarked Juventus marksman Mario Mandzukic as a potential target for the 2020 winter transfer window.

  • Chelsea striker out for three weeks with knee problem
  • Xabi Alonso provides fresh Moises Caicedo update ahead of Brentford game
  • The Croatian ace was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United last summer but a move did not materialise after they were put off by the Bianconeri's £14m valuation.

According to TuttoJuve, Mandzukic is likely to part ways with the Turin giants at the turn of the year with manager Maurizio Sarri clearly not favouring his services during the opening phase of the season.

The Red Devils have already been touted to make a renewed approach for the Croatian in the New Year but it is claimed that the Hammers are also keeping a close eye on the player's situation.

The Hammers currently have summer signings Sebastian Haller and Albian Ajeti as the only recognised strikers in their ranks and manager Manuel Pellegrini appearing keen on recruiting an experienced frontman.

The same appears the case with the Red Devils, who have been working with a young trio of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood for the centre-forward role this term.
