Manchester United have reportedly identified Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani as a potential option to strengthen the centre-forward department in January.
The Red Devils sanctioned the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez (loan) to Inter Milan during the summer but they were not able to pursue a replacement for either.
According to 90Min, the Mancunian giants are aiming to pursue an experienced striker, who can compete with the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford for the centre-forward duties.
Mario Mandzukic of Juventus has already been linked with a £9m to Old Trafford but reports indicate that the club are also weighing up a possible approach for Cavani.
Cavani has been with Les Parisiens for the past seven seasons but there are question marks regarding his future with the club with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign.
As a result, there is the speculation that he could be sold at the turn of the year with Mauro Icardi, presently on loan from Inter Milan, considered as a permanent replacement for the Uruguayan.
