According to reports, Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in returning to the Premier League to take over managerial duties at Arsenal. Mourinho was sacked in 2018 from the Manchester United job after a run of poor results but the Portuguese boss is a serial winner and the prospect of winning trophies with a third Premier League side is one that allures him.
Arsenal are currently enduring a period of uncertainty with Unai Emery failing to impress or make improvements at the Emirates Stadium. The Spaniard has come under severe criticism for his side's lack of identity and dull football and the results have been poor over the last few weeks as well. The Athletic's reporter David Ornstein, in a recent report, indicated that Emery is unlikely to be sacked as a result of an impulsive reaction but will most likely be afforded more time. However, if the current trend continues, the Spaniard could depart Arsenal before the end of his contract.
The appointment of Mourinho would certainly divide opinion as the ex-Chelsea boss has had numerous altercations with legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in the past. His style of football is not found attractive by many either. However, Mourinho is undoubtedly a serial winner and has the potential to make Arsenal compete at the top.
