Unhappy Wales international and Real Madrid midfielder Gareth Bale's agent has opened up on talks that he would be set to make a transfer to China. The former Tottenham player has struggled for regular first-team duties in recent seasons and only last summer had been linked with a move away from Spain.
When asked about a move to China, agent Jonathan Barnett quipped: "Gareth is delighted to play in Madrid.
“China? Don’t believe everything you hear.”
There had been rumours Bale would make a mega money transfer elsewhere as part of a 75 million USD package, however the Welshman opted to stay put with Zinedine Zidane's side.
Manager Zidane said of Bale's situation: "We think that Bale is a player who puts in a lot of effort and trains well. He's important for this squad and for the club.
"When he's not available, he's not available because he's got something and that's it.
"There's a lot of talk and a lot of things said. When he's ready and 100 per cent, we'll see. He's focused on playing well for the team."
