Real Madrid are reportedly planning to propose a player-plus-cash deal for Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang whereby James Rodriguez could head in the opposite direction.
The Bernabeu giants recruited Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt over the summer but the Serbian has yet to establish himself in the club's frontline.
As a result, the club have continued to bank on the services of Karim Benzema upfront but it appears that they want another experienced head to lead the attack.
According to El Desmarque, Los Blancos are keen on striking a transfer agreement for Aubameyang, who is said to be rated by the Gunners at around £69m.
It is added that Zinedine Zidane's side want to dispense Rodriguez as part of the deal such that they can reduce the overall valuation of Aubameyang's potential move to the club.
Aubameyang, who recently bagged his 50th Arsenal goal, has shown no signs of extending his Gunners deal beyond the summer of 2021 amid the club's woes in the top-flight.
The north London club have missed out on Champions League footbal for three seasons on the bounce and Aubameyang is expected to push for an exit if the same remains the case at the end of the current campaign.
