Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the likes of Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba are unlikely to make their injury comebacks for the next two weeks at the least.
McTominay picked up an ankle injury during the final seconds of the 3-1 win over Brighton before the international break and he has failed to recover from the untimely setback.
Speaking on MUTV, Solskjaer indicated that the Scot has not returned to training yet but he is hopeful that the midfielder may return against either Tottenham or Manchester City next month.
"He has not been training with us, he is still recovering and, hopefully, we can see him, maybe, around the time of Tottenham or [Manchester] City [next month]," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
Meanwhile, when asked about an update on Pogba, Solskjaer revealed that the Frenchman has just had his ankle cast removed and it will take a while before he returns to the mix.
"Paul is improving. Obviously he has been out and, when you are in a cast for that long, you do lose your muscle, so gradually you have to step it up. He has not started on his football work yet so it will still be a little while before we see him," he added.
Aside from the duo, Nemanja Matic remains a doubt for the forthcoming clash against Sheffield United after just returning from an unknown injury, which kept him out of action for more than six weeks.
Solskjaer has the option of fielding either Juan Mata or Jesse Lingard in the midfield alongside Fred. Else, James Garner may be handed with his maiden league start at Bramall Lane.
