Manchester City assistant Mikel Arteta is reportedly prepared to hold fresh discussions with Arsenal regarding the head coach position at the club.
The former Gunners captain was widely fancied to succeed Arsene Wenger as the new manager last year but they eventually decided to recruit Unai Emery.
Emery has endured mixed fortunes during his tenure with the Gunners and he is currently under immense pressure with the club going winless for five Premier League games on the bounce.
According to The Times, Arteta is willing to hold a fresh meeting with the Gunners in regards to the head coach position, should they decide to part ways with Emery in the near future.
Arteta has no experience whatsoever in terms of club management but he has been heavily praised by Cityzens boss Pep Guardiola for the handling of the tactical plans in training.
Arsenal are scheduled to entertain Eintracht Frankfurt at home in their forthcoming Europa League clash and anything less than a victory could see Emery dismissed from the manager's post.
