Arsenal are still said to hold an interest in signing Daniele Rugani, who has struggled for playing time at Juventus this season.
The centre-back was heavily linked with a loan move to the Emirates during the summer but he eventually decided to stay put with the Serie A holders.
Since then, the Italian has been restricted to just two appearances under Maurizio Sarri and that could contribute towards him pursuing a fresh challenge in the New Year.
According to Il Bianconero, the north London giants could make a renewed approach for Rugani in January even though Unai Emery has been sacked from the head coach role.
Rugani still has more than four years remaining on his existing deal which was signed earlier in the year and Juventus are expected to demand around £40m for his permanent sale.
It is unclear whether the Gunners would be willing to match that figure and they may instead propose a six-month loan deal with the option to buy next summer.
