Manchester United have reportedly made contact with the representatives of Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal over a potential switch to the club this month.
The Red Devils are currently lacking quality options in the midfield due to the injury absence of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay and they have been tipped to at least sign one central midfielder.
According to Corriere della Serra, Vidal has been identified as a possible option to reinforce the heart of the club's midfield and United have made contact with agent Fernando Felicevich over a mid-season move.
Vidal is said to be unsettled at the Camp Nou due to his reduced gametime and he has made more than half of his 73 appearances off the bench for the Spanish side.
He has been linked with a possible move to Inter Milan this month but United seem prepared to rival for his signature after learning of the reported £17m asking price set by the Blaugrana.
