Tottenham hold transfer talks for La Liga outcast

21 January 2020 - 17:54

Tottenham have reportedly held talks with Real Madrid over the transfer of Gareth Bale, according to Spanish outlet Marca.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip

  • The report also states that Daniel Levy has had a rendezvous with Florentino Perez regarding the potential transfer of the Welsh man.

The 30-year-old has lost his credibility in Zinedine Zidane's starting line-up owing to the inconsistency resulted by a string of injuries. Bale has managed to find the net only twice in 12 appearances in La Liga this season.

Jose Mourinho has now been endowed with greater responsibility to reinforce Spurs’ attack following the injury to Harry Kane.

The Portuguese gaffer had also expressed his interest earlier in reuniting with the Welsh front-man.

Unlike his time with Los Blancos, Bale could be a real deal, should he be able to make a return to his former club.

Mourinho’s impressive start to his managerial return is now flattering to deceive as a result of poor outcomes in recent weeks.

Spurs are eighth in the Premier League table trailing Sheffield United by two points.
