Barcelona make fresh transfer decision on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

25 January 2020 - 19:32

Barcelona have reportedly decided against making a January move for Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after learning that Arsenal won't sanction his sale at any price.

  • Tottenham planning to beat Chelsea to English striker?
  • Man Utd handed injury boost ahead of Burnley game

  • The Blaugrana are without Luis Suarez for the next three months after a knee surgery and this has contributed to their search for a new striker, who can possibly fill the void and compete for the spot in the future.

According to Sport, Aubameyang was one of the targets on their radar for the transfer window but they are unlikely to make an approach due to the Gunners' not-for-sale stance.

As such, they have switched their attention towards Rodrigo Moreno of Valencia and are hopeful of striking a transfer agreement before the deadline approaches.

Aubameyang, who is suspended for the forthcoming FA Cup clash against Bournemouth, has contributed 16 goals from 26 appearances for the Gunners in the current campaign.

His contract with the club expires in the summer of 2021 and a possible renewal may depend on whether the club are able to qualify for next season's Champions League.
