Aubameyang and Luiz return for Burnley clash

Arsenal receive double boost ahead of Burnley clash

31 January 2020 - 20:30

Arsenal have received a double boost ahead of the forthcoming Premier League clash against Burnley away from home.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The Gunners had a relatively quiet January transfer window but they managed to sign Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares on loan in the closing days.

Both players are unlikely to feature in the forthcoming league game at Turf Moor but the club have been boosted with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and David Luiz back in contention after serving their respective suspensions.

Aubameyang has been absent for the past three matches after his straight red card in the Premier League clash at Crystal Palace. Luiz, on the other hand, is back in the reckoning after just one domestic game, given he was handed a one-game suspension for the professional foul leading to his sending off at Chelsea.

Arsenal are presently 10 points behind the top four of the Premier League but they can reduce the gap at the weekend. Frank Lampard's side, who are fourth in the standings, have an away game at Leicester City and any drop in points offers the Gunners with the opportunity to reduce the gap to the Champions League spots.
