Newcastle chase Veloso?

Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan hs reportedly interested in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso. The player is a target for Manchester United, but Keegan is now set to make an offer for the Portuguese player.

Sir Alex Ferguson was due to make a bid of £10 million for Veloso this summer - and will use all of his resources and his excellent working relationship with Sporting to ensure he lands Veloso.



However, the appeal of first-team Premiership football may be more appealing to Veloso, as Newcastle attempt to lure the starlet to St. James'.



Veloso was watched by Keegan at Ibrox when Lisbon took on Rangers in the UEFA Cup on Thursday.
