Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has tipped Mason Mount to become one of the best players in the world following an impressive beginning to his Chelsea career.
The 21-year-old made his debut under Frank Lampard at the beginning of the season and he has since impressed in the Premier League with six goals and four assists from 29 outings.
Mount has not been able to replicate the same level of performances in the Champions League but he has nonetheless caught the eye of Messi, he told Topps: "Having watched him play he has the potential to be one of the best."
Mount has been a regular starter for the Blues across all competitions and he has received criticism from some supporters when he has struggled to make an impact through a sequence of games.
Despite this, Lampard has continued to keep his faith in the youngster's ability. Mount signed a new long-term deal with the Blues last summer. He has more than four years left on his contract.
