Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson could miss the beginning of next season after suffering significant knee ligament damage during the recent Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on the road.
The England international has been a vital cog in the club's midfield en route to their maiden Premier League title, but manager Jurgen Klopp has recently confirmed that he won't play any part in the remaining four league games.
According to The Mirror, the Merseyside giants are fearful that their skipper may have sustained significant knee ligament damage and feel the midfielder may not be ready in time for the new campaign.
The Reds have plenty of cover in the first-team squad with the likes of Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain competing for the central midfield spots.
Still, it remains to be seen whether Klopp may want another potential midfield addition, suppose Henderson is unable to return to action for an extended period of time.
