Kai Havertz agrees personal terms with Chelsea

20 July 2020 - 20:03

Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea ahead of his potential transfer this summer.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • The German has enjoyed a splendid 2019/2020 season with Leverkusen where he has registered a tally of 18 goals and nine assists in all competitions.

He currently has less than two years remaining on his contract with the club and it appears that he has made his mind up for a fresh challenge elsewhere.

According to The Athletic, Havertz recently made contact with technical adviser Petr Cech and manager Frank Lampard through a phone call and he has been convinced to join them.

The 21-year-old has already agreed personal terms over a five-year contract with the west London giants, but the Blues still need to meet Leverkusen's transfer demands.

The Bundesliga outfit are looking for at least £72m as the initial fee for their graduate with a further £18m to be settled in the form of performance-based add-ons.

The Blues are aiming to negotiate a lesser sum for the Germany international and they are positive about their prospects of doing so with the player prepared to move on.
