Emiliano Martinez has said that he could pursue a fresh challenge away from Arsenal unless he is guaranteed regular gametime next term.
The Argentine was a regular towards the end of the season after the injury to Bernd Leno and he managed to grab the eye with standout displays.
As a result, the 27-year-old has built a huge reputation for himself and is quite clear that he won't be playing second fiddle to Leno next term.
"I have shown the club that I can play for them and when I return next season I need to have more games. That is the only way I will stay at Arsenal," He told Continental.
"My target is to consolidate my place with Arsenal and to reach the Argentinian national team as number one. If I don't play for Arsenal, then clearly I would move on."
Martinez has less than two years remaining on his contract with the Gunners. He was the subject of interest from Leeds United earlier in the year and a number of other clubs could enter the race to sign him.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has a selection headache on his hands for the new campaign, considering Leno was equally impressive in goal before his knee injury.
