Chelsea are edging closer to landing the signature of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.

  • The Blues have been in regular talks with the German outfit for the attacker, but the £90m price tag has held up the deal.

Earlier this week, the west London side sought to negotiate a deal worth £70m for Havertz, but the proposal was rejected by Leverkusen.

Still, they have continued negotiations with the Bundesliga side and The Mail claims that they could now be prepared to meet the asking price.

The Blues are unlikely to pay the fee outright, but instead, they will negotiate the £90m package with the inclusion of add-ons and bonuses.

Havertz has already given the green light to join the Blues this summer and he has reportedly agreed on a five-year deal with the club.

He is set to be reunited with fellow countryman Timo Werner, who made the move to Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig earlier last month.
