Misery in the Anfield Camp? The loss of the indispensable centre half VVD has brought a shake up to the Anfield outfit. Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is no joke! This is a dangerous blow to Jürgen Klopp and his staff, knowing the heartbeat of his defence will be out for months. To bring a little calm in the camp, a list of names of defenders have been shortlisted for grasp when the January transfer window opens.
Though Fabinho can fit in that void, how long can Klopp rely on him? and the injury prone Matip and Gomez. Klopp knows that beyond his three fit senior centre backs, his options are sparse, with fringe players Rhys Williams, Nat Philips and Billy Koumetio ultimately not yet ready for regular action.
Who could Klopp and the transfer committee at Melwood target in the January transfer window? With all these high profile names flying in at Melwood, it would be quite challenging for Liverpool since clubs around Europe hardly allow their star name players to leave during January transfers. But getting one of these players would definetely be a huge boost to their target of retaining the league title.
