Chelsea star ready to accept pay-cut to move out on loan

Spain international Kepa Arrizabalaga is prepared to accept a significant cut on his £150,000-a-week wages as he looks to revive his goalkeeping career.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso

  • The 26-year-old had a disappointing 2019/2020 season with Chelsea where he managed the worst save percentage among the regular Premier League goalkeepers.

He started the current season in a similar unconvincing manner and that has paved the way for summer signing Edouard Mendy to replace him as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Elsewhere, he has dropped down the pecking order with Spain as well and he is now the third-choice goalkeeper behind Athletic's Unai Simon and Manchester United's David de Gea.

According to The Sun, Kepa has acknowledged that he needs to leave Chelsea in January in order to regain a starting spot with La Roja, who are managed by Luis Enrique.

He is willing to accept a significant wage-cut to pursue a loan move and reports claim that Valencia could be the front-runners to sign him. Sevilla are also keeping tabs on his situation.
