Liverpool are reportedly exploring a possible deal for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma amid the contract standoff with Georginio Wijnaldum.

  • Wijnaldum has been a key player in the centre of the park for the Reds with more than 200 appearances, but he could leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.

So far, there has been no indication that he would extend his stay beyond June next year and The Mail claims that the club are already looking into a suitable replacement.

Bissouma has caught the eye with his performances with the Seagulls over the past 18 months and it is claimed that he could be available for around £30m when the transfer window reopens.

Still, the Reds can't anticipate an easy pursuit of the Mali international with Manchester United and AS Monaco also said to be weighing up offers for the midfielder.

Bissouma, who was formerly with Lille, has made 68 appearances for the Seagulls. In the current campaign, he has been impressive with three tackles and one interception per game.
