Chelsea are reportedly planning to hand a new contract to Andreas Christensen amid his impressive displays under manager Thomas Tuchel.
The Dane was largely out-of-favour under former boss Frank Lampard and his situation was quite similar after Tuchel took charge in January.
However, an injury to Thiago Silva handed him a chance to start in the back three and he has since been in excellent form.
According to The Telegraph, the Blues are exploring a new deal for the centre-back, whose deal expires at the end of next season.
The club are likely to propose a four-year extension for the 24-year-old, who has started five of the previous six league games.
The Blues are unbeaten in 11 matches across all competitions and are currently fourth in the Premier League standings with 50 points.
Silva was only on the bench after returning from a hamstring injury and his situation could remain similar for the visit of Leeds United on Saturday.
