Liverpool have decided against pursuing Juventus forward Federico Chiesa this summer, The Express reports.
Chiesa joined Juventus on a two-year loan from Fiorentina last summer. They have the obligation to buy him for £32 million.
According to The Express, the Reds are long-term admirers of Chiesa, but they are unlikely to make an approach to sign him.
The Bianconeri are reluctant to lose the Italian unless they receive a significant bid of around £100m this summer.
That appears an unlikely prospect. The Reds are working on a limited budget for the ongoing transfer window.
They are currently offloading fringe players, and may look to make new signings with the transfer funds recouped.
A new midfielder remains a priority for the summer after Georginio Wijnaldum left on a free transfer to PSG.
They have their sights on landing Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez. The Spain international is valued at £40m.
The Reds have made just one summer signing in centre-back Ibrahima Konate.
