Michael Owen has admitted he is unsure what will happen in the future. The England forward has yet to commit in the long term to Newcastle, as Kevin Keegan remains desperate to tie the forward down to a new deal.
"In doing my skipper's notes in the programme, I stated to the fans that talks haven't begun yet, but the manager has pulled me to one side and said he wanted me to stay and the club,â Owen told Sky Sports.
âHe said he would be in touch soon to talk and that's where we stand. I haven't spoken to the club yet, but obviously I would think in the close season then maybe they will approach me or my advisor.
"When the manager spoke to me, he said he's got big ambitions to target big players and obviously try to get this place where it belongs - back up challenging for European spots, Champions League spots. The future's looking bright."
