Manchester United boss confirms striker won't face West Ham United

16 September 2021 - 20:11

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Edinson Cavani won't face West Ham United this weekend.

  • Everton make bid for Oleksandr Zinchenko
  • Marseille table bid for Chelsea defender

  • The Red Devils have made an impressive beginning to the Premier League season with 10 points from four matches.

They are currently top of the table on goal difference, and will be keen to continue the good run of form on Sunday.

Ahead of the game, Solskjaer has confirmed the absence of Cavani, who has been carrying a muscle strain in recent weeks.

The Uruguayan has yet to return to training, but Solskjaer said that he could return for the League Cup tie in midweek.

The Red Devils are scheduled to face the Hammers again in the Cup on Wednesday. Both games are at the London Stadium.

United suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Young Boys in the Champions League in midweek after they were down to 10 men.

Jesse Lingard gifted the winner with a poor backpass in stoppage time. There could be a strong response from the players this weekend.
