Everton could make a surprise approach to sign Alexis Sanchez from Inter Milan during the summer transfer window.
The Chilean is contracted to the Nerazzurri until June 2023, but they are prepared to offload him at the turn of the year.
According to Inter Live, Toffees boss Rafael Benitez is a huge admirer of Sanchez and would like to sign him this winter.
The Merseyside outfit are likely to propose a swap deal involving Cenk Tosun, but the Nerazzurri are expected to reject it.
Sanchez has not started a single game for the Nerazzurri this term, and the club are keen to get him off their wage bill soon.
They are prepared to sanction his sale on a straight-cash agreement rather than negotiating any kind of swap deal for his services.
The Toffees will have funds to spend in January after easing their Financial Fair Play concerns with the exit of James Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was sold to Al-Rayyad recently. The Toffees earned around £8m while also saving wages worth £250,000-a-week.
