Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has hinted that the club are close to finalising a new contract for Andreas Christensen.
The 25-year-old centre-back has been one of their leading performers this term, but his contract expires in seven months' time.
There has recently been an impasse in negotiations, but speaking earlier today, Tuchel hinted that a renewal will be sorted.
The German said that the player and the club think the 'same way', and he expects 'some good news' in the coming days.
Aside from Christensen, the club are also working on a new deal for Antonio Rudiger, but there has been no progress so far.
The 28-year-old has snubbed a contract proposal of £150,000-a-week. He wants at least £200,000-a-week to extend his stay.
The hierarchy have no plans of meeting that figure, and he could leave on a free transfer at the end of the ongoing campaign.
Rudiger can negotiate a pre-contract with a foreign club in January. Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich are preparing offers.
