Ralf Rangnick provides update on Varane and Pogba

10 December 2021 - 20:20

Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has revealed that Raphael Varane and Paul Pogba need more time for recovery.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Varane sustained a hamstring injury last month. He has returned to full training, but the Norwich City game will come too soon for him.

The Frenchman is likely to be eased into the proceedings, and could return to the matchday squad against Brighton & Hove Albion next weekend.

Meanwhile, compatriot Paul Pogba is still nursing a thigh problem picked up in training with the France national side in early November.

The midfielder is currently undergoing his rehabilitation process in Dubai, but he is expected to return to Carrington by the start of next week.

However, the 28-year-old is still far from making his comeback. Rangnick has revealed that Pogba may not return to action for another month.

United will be aiming a third straight league win when they face Norwich City on the road on Saturday evening. They should be favourites to do so.
