Manchester United are unlikely to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland this summer, according to ESPN.
The Norwegian has been a long-term target for the Red Devils, and he has been on their radar since his time at Molde.
Ahead of the summer, United continue to be linked with him, but ESPN claims that they are unlikely to land his services.
Real Madrid and Manchester City are the leading contenders to sign the striker, who wants an established sporting project.
It is added that the Norwegian is not necessarily focusing on the financials, and his next destination will be career-related.
Haaland has suffered multiple injuries this term at Dortmund, but has still bagged 23 goals and six assists in all competitions.
It has been claimed that he has a £67m release clause on his contract, but that only happens to be a 'gentleman's agreement'.
Dortmund are still expected to respect the player's decision, and will sell him if any interested club meets the valuation.
