Manchester United are reportedly planning an opening bid to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer.
The Red Devils are expected to reinforce their midfield department with Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba on their way out.
A number of Premier League stars have been linked, but Calciomercato claims that United are back in for Milinkovic-Savic.
The Serbian has been a long-term target for the Red Devils, and he was first on their transfer radar in the summer of 2019.
United were put off by the €120 million asking price back then, but it is now reported that he could be signed for around €80m.
The 27-year-old will enter the final two years of his Lazio contract this summer, and he has no plans of penning a renewal.
United are determined to sign him, having missed him in the past, but face stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
Both clubs can offer Champions League football unlike United, and this could provide them the edge in the player's pursuit.
