Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a blow in signing Alessandro Bastoni during this summer's transfer window.
The centre-back is on the radar of the Premier League giants, and it was recently claimed that they could compete for his signature.
However, his agent has now come forward and dismissed the speculation saying: "Bastoni will stay at Inter for sure. He has a contract and he’s happy with Inter - there’s no problem."
United are keen on pursuing a new ball-playing central defender, and they may have to look elsewhere with Bastoni likely to stay at Inter.
They have been linked with Ajax's Jurrien Timber in recent weeks, but the Dutchman has second thoughts over a summer transfer.
With the World Cup this winter, the 20-year-old is wary of losing his national team spot if he struggles in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Spurs boss Antonio Conte won't get the chance to reunite with Bastoni, having previously managed him at Inter Milan.
The north London giants don't have any other immediate targets for now.
