Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has given the go-ahead to join Manchester United this summer, according to The Mirror.
The Dutchman has been United's leading target in recent weeks, but it has always been claimed that he has to be convinced.
The lack of Champions League football was highlighted as a reason behind the player's reluctance, but that has now been sorted.
According to The Mirror, United manager Erik ten Hag has been able to persuade De Jong to join the club this summer.
Ten Hag revealed his plans to get United challenging for trophies and highlighted how De Jong was successful under him at Ajax.
United now need to finalise a transfer fee with the Blaugrana. Their opening bid of £60 million fell well short of the £89m asking price.
They are prepared to make a fresh bid of £68m plus add-ons, and there is optimism that a deal can be finalised in the coming days.
