The Gunners have been hot on the trail of the Brazil international over the past month, and they are now in advanced talks with the Cityzens.

Their opening bid of around £30m was turned down by the English champions, who are said to be eyeing at least £50m for the 25-year-old.

However, Goal claims that the north London giants are optimistic of signing him for much less by including easily achievable add-ons.

It is added that the north London giants are making good progress towards the transfer and an agreement could be reached in a few days.

Arsenal are keen to complete their transfer business early this summer with manager Mikel Arteta wanting most of the arrivals for pre-season.

Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira have already been signed. Porto confirmed the agreement for the latter, but Arsenal are yet to make an announcement.
