Bukayo Saka ready to sign Arsenal deal

Mikel Arteta has revealed that star midfielder Bukayo Saka is almost ready to sign a new deal with Arsenal. The Spanish manager has made agreeing a new contract with Saka his top priority this summer, despite a host of new players arriving at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta intends to build his young squad around England international Saka, despite reported interest from Man City in the club\'s prized asset.

On Arsenal\'s pre-season tour of the United States, Arteta responded to reports that Saka was set for a new deal and said: “We will try and we both have the same intention and it’s a matter of time.\"

Arteta has been discussing a new deal with Saka for the best part of a year and it is believed Arsenal will offer the player a bumper deal worth an estimated £150,000 a week, with a host of performance related bonuses.

The contract will not make Saka the highest paid player at the club, but it will prove that Arsenal see Saka as essential the club\'s on the field future.
