Manchester United are ready to make a fresh move to sign Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong this winter.
The Red Devils were determined to land the Dutchman last summer, but he was unconvinced to leave the Catalan club.
De Jong has since struggled for regular starts with the La Liga outfit and there are suggestions that he could move on.
According to Sport, Erik ten Hag is a huge admirer of De Jong and has urged United to make a fresh move in January.
However, their chances of signing him could be low. De Jong is prepared to wait until next summer to make a decision.
He will obviously want Champions League football at his next club. Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also keeping tabs.
It remains to be seen whether United can land his services next summer after an unsuccessful pursuit earlier in the year.
De Jong is unlikely to leave Barcelona unless his deferred wages are repaid.
