Massive blow for Arsenal with striker out for three months

04 December 2022 - 20:42

Arsenal have been handed a huge blow with Gabriel Jesus set to be sidelined for three months with a knee injury.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The Brazilian picked up the setback in the 1-0 loss to Cameroon this week. It was initially suggested that he could be out for four weeks.

However, Sportv now reveal that the injury is more serious than initially predicted and the 25-year-old requires a surgery for the issue.

With Jesus set to be sidelined for around three months, Arsenal could now be forced to enter the transfer market for another centre-forward.

Eddie Nketiah has been Jesus' deputy over the course of the season, but the Gunners graduate does not possess the same work rate as Jesus.

Nketiah has impressive finishing skills in the box, but Jesus offers much more with his strong hold-up play and chance creating ability.

It remains to be seen whether the Gunners hierarchy are prepared to back the manager with funds to spend on a new number nine in January.
