Arsenal have reportedly ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix in January.
The Portuguese star has been unfairly treated by manager Diego Simeone at Atletico this term. He has played just over 800 minutes.
As a result, he is pushing to leave the club in January and AS claim that the Gunners are now favourites to land his services.
The Gunners recently suffered a big blow with Gabriel Jesus suffering a knee injury. He is now sidelined for around three months.
The north London giants must find a replacement for him in the New Year and it appears Felix could be a viable solution for them.
However, the major stumbling block could be the asking price. Atletico want a staggering fee of around €100m to sell the attacker.
Arsenal may resist paying such a fee next month. The Gunners could propose a loan deal with an option to buy next summer.
