Manchester United have reached an agreement with Alejandro Garnacho over a new long-term contract until June 2028.
The 18-year-old is one of the best academy graduates in the Premier League and United have now agreed a deal in principle.
The youngster has finalised a five-year renewal with wages which will increase progressively as his team role grows.
An announcement is expected in the coming days. Garnacho needs to sort out his image rights before the deal is confirmed.
Garnacho has been hugely impressive in his debut United season. He has made eight goal contributions in 1040 minutes.
His last-gasp winner at Fulham before the World Cup made the headlines and he was unfortunate not to make the Argentina squad.
The youngster has yet to get a senior cap and there are claims that Spain could look to convince him to change his allegiance.
United will be relieved that Garnacho has agreed an extension, given Real Madrid were hoping to capitalise on an impasse.
