Manchester United don't plan to sign Burnley striker Wout Weghorst on a permanent basis this summer.
The Netherlands international joined the Red Devils on a short-term loan from the Clarets last month without an option to buy.
He has since struggled with just one goal and one assists from 10 outings, and has been playing as a central midfielder lately.
It is now reported by Football Insider that the club don't plan to pursue a long-term deal for Weghorst after recent displays.
While Erik ten Hag has heaped praise on Weghorst's high pressing, the hierarchy don't see value for money in re-signing him.
Instead, they are prepared to save the funds for the purchase of a marquee striker. Victor Osimhen is one of their main targets.
The Nigerian has been a revelation for Napoli this term with 19 goals and has helped them steer clear of everyone in Serie A.
He could be available for around €120m this summer.
