Manchester United won't pay more than £60 million to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund this summer, according to The Telegraph.

  • The Denmark international has been identified as the prime striker target for the Red Devils and they are lining up a formal bid.

Atalanta currently value him in the region of £86m, but United are adamant that they won't pay more than £60m for his services.

United have already agreed personal terms with the former Sturm Graz ace. He has accepted a five-year deal for £75,000-a-week.

Hojlund is currently pushing Atalanta's hierarchy to negotiate his transfer, but the Red Devils don't plan to pay over the odds for him.

An official offer could be made in the next 48 hours. United remain optimistic that Atalanta will lower their initial valuation.

They have recently agreed to sign El Bilal Traore from Almeria which suggests that they are preparing for Hojlund's departure.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the 20-year-old, but he has his sights on making a move to the Theatre of Dreams.
