Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella over an initial loan deal.
The Red Devils are currently in a crisis with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia on the sidelines with lengthy injuries.
As a result, they don't have a senior left-back in the squad and this has encouraged them to land Cucurella.
The Spaniard has now agreed personal terms with the Mancunian giants, and will proceed to speak with Chelsea.
The Blues want a hefty loan fee of around £7m from United and want his wages to be covered in full this term.
United's first loan proposal was around £2m, but they remain optimistic of finding a middle ground very soon.
The club were also looking at Marcos Alonso and Sergio Reguilon, but will now focus on signing Cucurella alone.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion star is eager to join the Red Devils before the transfer window closes on Friday.
Him and Altay Bayindir could be the final summer signings for United.
