Prince Aning: set for Premier League move?

Dutch starlet wanted by Chelsea and Tottenham

03 December 2023 - 17:35

Tottenham and Chelsea have deployed their scouts to monitor the progress of Borussia Dortmund's starlet Prince Aning, with the 19-year-old left-back reportedly available for a fee of around 25 million euros. The 5 foot 9 defender moved to Germany from Ajax in 2022, and has yet to make his first appearance in the Bundesliga but is expected to eventually make the step up at Dortmund.

  • Chelsea want to sign Lyon star to replace Jadon Sancho
  • Arsenal want to bring Aymeric Laporte back to England

  • Spurs and Chelsea have both been busy in recent seasons, signing some of Europe's best young talent. Particularly at Chelsea, the Blues have been swift to sign the best hot prospects available and Aning is said to be keen to move to Stamford Bridge, and he could then head off on loan back to the Netherlands to his former club Ajax. Spurs, on the other hand, are looking to sign a defender for next season and Aning's name has been mentioned with a transfer to White Hart Lane.

The bright prospect has so far struggled to force his way into Bundesliga side Dortmund's squad, but viewers of the reserve side have been sufficiently impressed. Dortmund only paid around 250,000 euros to sign the defender from Ajax. What has caught the eye so far, is his excellent on the ball ability, his pace getting forward from defence and is a very good crosser of the ball.

Chelsea see the player as a player for the future, but at Tottenham Aning could immediately force his way into the club's starting XI.
