Wolves let Luke Cundle join Stoke City on loan

English attacking midfielder Luke Cundle has been allowed to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan for Stoke City today, as the 21-year-old has penned a six month contract at his new club. Having spent two previous campaigns on loan with Swansea City and Plymouth Argyle, Cundle had been eager for regular first-team football and had been informed that he was not in the plans of Wolves for the remainder of this current campaign.

  • The player remains highly rated at Molineux though, and the player that emerged from the youth team in 2019 hopes a successful loan spell will give him ample opportunity to return and add to his four Premier League appearances.

Wolves scout Steven Davis said of the move: “Stoke know what they’re bringing in, he can fit straight into the way they want to play, he knows the system. A key advantage is having worked together and it should be seamless for Luke and hopefully he can be as consistent as he was at Plymouth.”

It is understood that Cundle has been promised first-team football at Stoke City.
