Tottenham and Eric Dier have parted company, as the England international central defender signs a long-term deal with German giants Bayern Munich. Dier leaves Spurs in search of silverware, after spending a lengthy period with the club and failing to win any accolades.
Dier will join up with former Spurs teammate Harry Kane in Bavaria, and will be used on a regular basis in the Bundesliga, according to several reports.
The player has leave Spurs for a fee of around 5 million euros, and appears to be a negotiation that continued from the transfer of Kane to Bayern last summer.
Dier spent close to nine years with Spurs, appearing 274 times for the club in the Premier League, returning 12 goals. He has also appeared 49 times for England and is hopeful that an impressive season ahead for Bayern Munich will help his chance of a return to the squad for the Euro 2024 summer tournament.
Dier's contract was due to expire in June of this year, so Spurs have moved swiftly to reap a transfer fee for a player that would've been likely to leave on a free transfer anyway.
