Arsenal are set to compete with Liverpool for the signature of Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida during the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old has the ability to play in central defence or at right-back. He has also operated from the defensive midfield position for Feyenoord.
His versatility has caught the the radar of the Gunners and Reds and De Telegraaf claim that Geertruida could be on his way to England.
The Dutchman's current deal with his club expires at the end of next season and the hierarchy have already given the green light for an exit.
Arsenal are currently well covered in each of those positions, but they may want Geertruida to add more depth and quality in the first-team squad.
He is a strong passer of the ball and does not shy away from duels. He has a good physical presence and has the knack for scoring and creating goals.
Arsenal may need to act quickly as Liverpool could have an advantage due to Arne Slot, who was previously the manager of Feyenoord.
