Arsenal have reached a verbal agreement with Real Sociedad over the transfer of midfielder Mikel Merino, according to Matteo Moretto.
The Spaniard has been linked with the Gunners over the past few weeks, and they have finally agreed on a €30m package with Sociedad.
Merino has already agreed terms over a four-year deal and the clubs are now sorting the payment terms including performance add-ons.
The 28-year-old likes to operate from the left central midfield role and he could compete for places with Kai Havertz next season.
He is one of the best when it comes to winning aerial duels and should be a quality acquisition for the Gunners with his experience.
The hierarchy will be aiming to secure his services as soon as possible such that they can place their entire focus on a new marksman.
