Chelsea have revived their interest in signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen before the transfer deadline, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Blues are determined to sign a marquee striker in the current transfer window and they are now back in the pursuit of Osimhen.
The Nigerian star is expected to leave Napoli in the coming days. He has already made the decision to pursue a fresh challenge.
Chelsea are one of his admirers, but Osimhen is clear that he won't reduce his current salary to make the switch to west London.
On top of this, the former Lille man also has no plans of accepting a loan deal and prefers a permanent transfer to another outfit.
This is a big stumbling block for the Blues, considering they are working on a reduced transfer budget ahead of the transfer deadline.
Chelsea are actively aiming to offload Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke alongside Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja and Romelu Lukaku.
The Blues can reduce the €130m release clause for Osimhen by swapping Lukaku as part of the deal, but may still require to pay €100m.
