Arsenal are seriously interested in signing Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra when the transfer window reopens, according to Caught Offside.
The Gunners had a relatively quiet summer transfer window as they made just four new signings. The club's net spend was just £20 million.
There is bound to be more transfer activity next year and it is claimed that the London giants are lining up an approach for Valencia's Guerra.
Guerra has a huge £85m release clause in his contract with Los Che, but the Spanish outfit could be willing to sell him for around £25m.
The 21-year-old is attracting interest from several high-profile teams in Spain, but he prefers to move to Arsenal due to Mikel Arteta's presence.
Arsenal made just one new midfield signing in the recent transfer window. Mikel Merino was recruited from Real Sociedad for around £32m.
Merino is unlikely to make his debut until the second half of October, having suffered a shoulder fracture during his first training session.
